The debut gameplay trailer for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid has arrived and it shows off our favorite teens with attitude in action.
Currently in development over at nWay, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is shaping up to be the Power Rangers fighting game we’ve been waiting for. As players combine three of their favorite Rangers in tag teams, they’ll be able to battle it out against other rangers from the long-running series, as well as some iconic enemies.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse at some of the melee-based combat from Jason, The Red Ranger and Tommy, The Green Ranger, from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, as well as the Magna Defender from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Later in the trailer, we see Goldar from Mighty Morphin’, Lord Drakkon, A.K.A. Tommy Oliver, from BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin’ comics, and one of Drakkon’s Mastodon Sentries.
It goes to show that no Power Rangers medium is being left out of this game, which is pretty cool to see. We’ll likely see characters from all Power Rangers series’ so that’s exciting news.
Other characters included in the trailer are Gia, the Yellow Ranger from Megaforce, Ranger Slayer, A.K.A Kimberly Hart from BOOM Studios’ Mighty Morphin, and Kat from Power Rangers S.P.D., as well as a glimpse at the Megazord Ultras which will help players take down their opponents in a more passive ability.
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is set to launch later this year for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. A PC version is also planned though, a release window has yet to be unveiled. Players can pre-order the game now, and receive a Green Ranger V2 character skin.
