Rebellion has revealed that it has plans for not one but four new Sniper Elite games including two re-releases, a VR game, and a brand new entry into the series.
Rebellion has announced its plans for the Sniper Elite series over the next few years. First, it’ll kick off with a remastered version of Sniper Elite V2 that’ll bring the game to current platforms with improved visuals including 4K compatibility and HDR, as well as new features.
These new features will come in the form of new playable characters, a new photo mode, an expansion of the game’s multiplayer that’ll have 16 players face-off against each other. Finally, all of the game’s post-launch content will be included.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch in 2019.
Following this, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition will be making its way onto Nintendo Switch later this year, which will include the base game and all of the post-launch DLC ever released for the title. Switch-exclusive local wireless multiplayer and motion controls will also be coming to the game. No release date has been set other than “2019”.
Sniper Elite for VR is also in the works, in partnership with Just Add Water who previously worked on Oddworld and Gravity Crash. A full reveal of this title is planned for later this year.
Finally, Rebellion has announced that a new major title in the Sniper Elite series is coming which “follows in the footsteps” of Sniper Elite 4. This game is currently in development and planned for a 2020 release.
So there you have it. If you were looking for more Sniper Elite goodness, Rebellion has plenty of content on the way. I for one can’t wait to play the game on Switch.
