Apex Legends is indeed getting its first season, Battle Pass, and new Legend, but we’ll have to wait.
Taking to Reddit to address the state of Apex Legends’ first season, Respawn as given us a statement following the unintentional update regarding Season 1 on Origin, and the host of datamined information that has come out about the title in recent weeks.
“We’ll be providing details on Season 1, Battle Pass, and the next Legend very soon. It’s not coming out today [March 12].” Respawn stated in their post. Fans have been excited about the release of the title’s battle pass, but it seems we’ll have to wait a little while longer to receive the hotly anticipated feature.
Respawn also stated that “There’s lots of stuff that has been datamined from Apex since launch and is swirling around the Internet.” The statement goes on to urge fans not to take these as gospel, reminding fans that “There’s stuff in there that is very old, or things we’ve tried in the past and cut–remember our design process is to prototype and play lots of ideas–and some of it may be things we’re still building for Apex Legends.”
Respawn ends by reiterating that just because there is code to suggest some new features, it does not mean that we will ever see them implemented into Apex Legends “Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it’ll ever come out. At best you should treat any posts about this as a rumor and the real info will come from us when we’re ready to show off what’s coming next.”
So what do you think of all this? Is Respawn simply trying to get us off the scent of some new features? Are you sad about the delay to the Battle Pass? Let us know in the comments below!
