It seems to be a week for new trailers as Disney are adding Toy Story 4 onto their list of trailer drops, and we finally get to see Bo Peep in action.
I thought you couldn’t get a bigger film trailer than Avengers: Endgame, but clearly, I was wrong! The new trailer shows us familiar faces in Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Rex, and even Bo Peep, alongside some newer characters, mainly focusing around ‘Forky’ who is a spork.
The main premise of the story is supposedly around Forky who is made by Bonnie (Woody and the other toys’ new child owner after Andy and the events of Toy Story 3), out of a disposable spork. He questions his purpose in life and tries to escape the other toys as he doesn’t see himself as a toy. Woody tries to show him what it means to be a toy and in an unfortunate turn of events, Woody and Forky end up falling out of a vehicle.
After this, we can see the potential villain, some weird crazy doll called Gabby Gabby who seems to have an army of ventriloquist dolls attack Woody and Forky. Luckily for them, a bad-ass Bo Peep turns up to save the day whom we haven’t seen for 20 years since the events of Toy Story 2. It is she who starts making Woody question what it means to exist in this world.
It’s also nice to see the cast reprise some of the voices of the classic characters, Tom Hanks is back as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie and Annie Potts as Bo Peep. Alongside that is a sneak peek of Keanu Reeves’ new character Duke Kaboom.
The new trailer has certainly raised more questions, possibly enough for me to get excited to buy a ticket when the film comes out on 21 June!
