With four new releases in the UK physical chart this week, for some reason Anthem remains in the top spot despite a 71% drop in sales.
Despite having teething problems and a pretty lacklustre launch, EA and BioWare’s Anthem remains in the top spot fending off four new releases last week. The 71 drop in sales is fairly high for an AAA release in its second week, that being said, it has managed to fend off FIFA 19 which climbs to second place.
The first new entry comes in the form of The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame which lands in fourth place, selling best on PS4. The second new release is Codemaster’s DIRT Rally 2.0 which debuts in sixth place. Revenue-wise, DIRT Rally 2.0 came in second place behind Anthem, though this was due to having a higher retail price than others that launched last week.
In tenth place is the third new release in the form of Ubisoft’s absolutely fantastic, Trials Rising.
The only other release not to hit the top ten is Dead or Alive 6, which sold less than half of its predecessor, Dead or Alive 5. This could be attributed to people grabbing the game digitally, or that players have become tired of the game’s same-old formula.
