Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is a brand new old-school shooter from veterans of the old-school Quake scene. OLD SCHOOL!
Gone are the days of flat sprites, pixelated weapons, and an excess of gore, but 3D Realms is back with a new shooter that brings classic Quake vibes to the 21st Century. Wrath: Aeon of Ruin channels 3D Realms’ classic library of shooters like Duke Nukem with a dark fantasy twist.
Players can expect to find ruins, temples, ancient forests, and several devilish nasties hiding within which can be blasted to smithereens with nine weapons each with an alternate firing mode. Players can also find and equip artifacts which bring more power to the player’s arsenal.
Of course, you can also expect to find classic 90s level design in Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, with players exploring a labyrinth of rooms and corridors in order to collect items and keys to access new areas and progress through the game. Just like we did in the 90s.
Oh, and Andrew Hulshult and Bjorn Jacobsen are on board for the game’s soundtrack, so you can expect some pretty decent tunes as you’re mincing through enemies.
