Deadline is reporting that Alicia Vikander’s Tomb Raider is getting a sequel and Amy Jump will be on board penning the script.
According to sources, a sequel to the 2018 action adventure movie, Tomb Raider, is moving forward as MGM and Warner Bros. have hired Jump to write the script for the upcoming movie and that Vikander liked what she saw in the script.
Jump’s previous work includes Free Fire, Kill List, and A Field in England among others, all of which are previous collaborations with director and partner Ben Wheatley.
Unfortunately aside from this news, that’s all we know about the currently untitled sequel. There’s a chance that it may focus on adventures in the later video games, of which the previous movie was based, but at the moment that’s just speculation.
We’re also unsure whether Roar Uthaug will be back to direct the sequel. Though apparently, GK Films is back as producer alongside Elizabeth Cantillon.
