Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed that actress Ashly Burch be coming back to voice Tiny Tina for Borderlands 3.
Burch, who first voiced Tiny Tina back in Borderlands 2 which launched in 2012, has since gone on to voice other characters such as Chloe Price in Life is Strange and Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn – roles in which she was nominated for “Best Performance” in both 2015 and 2017.
While initially, Tiny Tina was more of a supporting character in Borderlands 2, she went on to score her own DLC in the form of Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. Tina herself is described as an “unstable 13-year-old explosives expert” and as usual, Burch made the character her own with some pretty fantastic voice acting.
Interestingly, when Anthony Burch – Ashly’s brother – created Tiny Tina, he apparently based the character on her – though she still had to audition for the role.
This, of course, is probably a bit of a kick in the teeth for Troy Baker who won’t be returning to voice his character Rhys from Tales of the Borderlands.
Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13.
