Microsoft has announced when they’ll be unveiling Gears 5‘s multiplayer mode, and it’s not quite when you’d expect.
Going by the title, you’d assume that Microsoft was stating the obvious – that it was to unveil the game’s multiplayer mode during E3 2019. However, that’s not the case at all as Microsoft seems to have plans outside of E3 with a new TBS series.
Eleague Gears Summer Series: The Bonds and Betrayals of Brotherhood is an upcoming six-part series which will debut this summer and has a focus on six esports players and Gears fans who compete in a series of different tournaments. This is where you’ll be able to get your first glimpse at Gears 5‘s multiplayer.
Specifically June 14 at 11PM EST, the Versus mode will be unveiled, the company has announced. Interestingly this is just five days after Microsoft’s E3 press conference, so perhaps they want to keep the Gears turning until then… eh, eh, get it?
Gears 5 is set to land on Xbox One this year. A solid release date has yet to be announced. Though according to Phil Spencer, it’s coming along well.
