During an investors call, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has revealed that there won’t be a new Nintendo Switch console at E3.
If you have an internet connection and even the slightest interest in the Nintendo Switch you’ve probably seen lots of rumours regarding the release of new hardware of the hit platform going around. Back in March we’ve reported that two new models were due an announcement for E3 2019, but now this particular rumour might have been put to the grave once and for all.
According to a Twitter post by Tokyo Reuters reporter Sam Nussey Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa stated there are no plans to announce any new hardware at this year’s E3. Just to make it really clear, there will be no Switch Mini or Switch Pro announcement or any of that sort at the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Of course this will not put a stop to the largely baseless and very annoying rumours according to which at least one new Nintendo Switch model should surprisingly be found in stores tomorrow that have circulated the net since at least last year. Furukawa also stated there are always new internal developments regarding hardware so I’m looking forward to an official announcement when it really does come.
