Ahead of this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration, Disney has unveiled the full title for Star Wars Episode 9 as well as a trailer giving us a glimpse at the upcoming flick.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the official name for Episode 9 and will pick up some time after The Last Jedi. It’ll likely see the surviving cast of Episode 8, including Carrie Fisher. We’ll also see the arrival of Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, as well as Matt Smith, Richard E. Grant, and Keri Russel, though their roles are currently unconfirmed.
A teaser trailer has also been released for The Rise of Skywalker, which offers a little over two minutes of footage which is exciting. Though, lap it up while you can as Disney’s Bob Iger has revealed that the Star Wars movie franchise is set to go on a ‘hiatus’.
This comes at the same time Disney unveil their plans for Disney+, the upcoming streaming service that’ll feature a number of new and exclusive Star Wars-themed programs and movies, including The Mandalorian.
