Yoshi’s Crafted World this week became the second Nintendo UK number 1 of 2019 this week following a very, very close battle with Ubisoft’s The Division 2.
Launching on the Nintendo Switch last week, physical sales of Yoshi’s Crafted World thrust the puzzle game into first place narrowly beating Ubisoft’s open-world shooter sequel The Division 2 by only 63 copies.
This joins a handful of other new titles, including New Super Mario Bros U, to claim the top spot so far this year and puts Nintendo on par with Ubisoft, Capcom, and EA with two new number ones.
Sales of The Division 2 continue to fall slightly, this time by 51% which isn’t actually bad for a third-week on sale. Though its overall physical launch in the UK is still disappointing.
Last week’s first place holder, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice fell to third place with a 65% drop in sales week-on-week, which again, isn’t that bad, especially for an overall niche title.
Last week saw very little in the way of notable new releases. We had Assassin’s Creed 3 remaster which landed in ninth place. Generation Zero landed in nineteenth place followed by The Walking Dead: The Final Season in twenty-third and Outward landing in twenty-fourth.
