While some have been anxiously awaiting the release of the next Zelda title, Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer, it would appear we don’t need to wait much longer, if a new data mine leak is to be believed.
Cadence of Hyrule, featuring the Legend of Zelda has been a title on everyone’s mind for quite some time now. Crypt of the NecroDancer took everything we loved about a rogue-lite dungeon crawler and combined it with everything we love about rhythm-based, dancing games.
It starts you out like any other rogue-lite; with nothing and at the ground level of an ever-changing, sprawling dungeon. The difference here is that running through the heart and soul of this game are sweet beats that everything you do hinges off of. Now, Crypt of the Necrodancer looks to include the catchy tunes of Hyrule, and if the source is correct, we could be seeing that as early as Thursday, May 30, 2019!
Nintendo of America’s site source code allegedly states the aforementioned release date, thanks to a data mine by Twitter user NWPlayer123.
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer is a highly anticipated crossover between the Zelda franchise and the indie rhythm classic. Its art has been revamped to reflect older Legend of Zelda style titles as well and is being developed by the same team behind the original Crypt of the NecroDancer, Brace Yourself Games.
With all of the anticipated news coming from and around E3 in the next couple of weeks, Nintendo is seemingly trying to get out certain news and titles before then. Cadence of Hyrule is just one example, with other games like the new Pokemon Sword and Shield receiving their own Nintendo Direct prior to the E3 showcase as well. Taking this into consideration, it wouldn’t be surprising if Nintendo was trying to get out in front of all the big news drops with a surprise game or two.
While it should be taken with a grain of salt until confirmed, it would seem those anxiously awaiting the new rhythm, Zelda title won’t need to wait that much longer. Be sure to check out the launch trailer below, and let us know if this is a title you’re looking forward to in the comments section!
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer is set to release this spring.
