Treyarch has this week unveiled the next major DLC release for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 with Operation Spectre Rising and Blackout’s map is changing once again.
Available now on PS4 and in a few weeks for Xbox One and PC, Operation Spectre Rising brings with it a brand new Specialist; Spectre. This Specialist comes with two abilities, the first being a katana allowing them to dash between and slash up enemies in quick succession. Their second skill gives them the ability to see through smoke.
Spectre is also available outside of multiplayer as a skin in Blackout. Speaking of Blackout, a major change is coming to the map with Operation Spectre Rising, specifically the fact that half of the map is now under water as Hydro Dam has been blown up by Spectre, so you can expect plenty more underwater shenanigans.
Certain points of interest have drastically changed too including Rivertown and Turbine as well as the container ship at Cargo Docks which is now washed ashore and tipped on its side. I guess players won’t be overlooking those boats much longer.
As usual, the DLC comes with four new multiplayer maps, as well as two new modes: Prop Hunt and Bounty Hunter. Three weapons have also been added to multiplayer, and plenty of cosmetic items have also been added.
Finally, Zombies is getting a new Gauntlet mode… and that’s about it. Considering Zombies is probably the only aspect of story players are getting from Black Ops 4, it’s a shame the mode seems to continue getting overlooked.
