Death Stranding

Following a handful of teases, Hideo Kojima has revealed that his upcoming title Death Stranding is set to launch on November 8, 2019.

Earlier this week, Kojima posted a number of little teasers over on Twitter suggesting some big news was coming. Many suspected we’d get a trailer that actually told us what the game was about, and in some respects, we got half of that as well as a release date for the game, which surprised many.

According to a press release, Death Stranding will have players play as Sam Bridges who’ll “traverse a ravaged nation to reconnect a fractured society and save mankind from the brink of extinction.”

“People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation,” said Kojima in a special message released along side the video. “‘Death Stranding’ is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the ‘Strand’ or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or ‘Strands’ with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.”

In addition to a handful of little descriptions, a new trailer was also unveiled which showcases some of the acting talents that’ll star in the game including Norman Redus, Guillermo del Toro, Lea Seydoux, Madds Mikkelsen, Nicolas Winding Refn, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, and finally, Lindsay Wagner.
