This summer, Nintendo Switch owners can look forward to vacations, the beach, and… demon hunting? That’s right! On May 6, the official Twitter account for the latest entry in the series tweeted that the very first Devil May Cry game will be joining the Switch’s library.
At this time, there isn’t any word about titles 2 through 4 or the attempted series reboot DmC: Devil May Cry.
Devil May Cry follows Dante Sparda, a demon hunter, as he seeks to unravel the mysteries behind an isolated castle and enact his revenge on the demon emperor Mundus. It was first released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, though it has enjoyed many remasters and rereleases since then.

This news has fans excited for more reasons than just the fact that they’ll be able to play through some of Dante’s story, though. When Super Smash Brothers Ultimate was teasing content, many fans hoped that Dante would join the battle roster.
The game director, Hideaki Itsuno, said that it wouldn’t be so, because the Devil May Cry series has never graced a Nintendo console before. Many fans are wondering if this is the first step to getting some devilish Dante DLC in Smash Ultimate.
Meanwhile, we don’t have an official release date on the Switch port for Devil May Cry beyond “this summer.”
