As of the weekend, Retroworld Expo (RWX) has set its dates for its fifth annual show. It will be running through September 28 and 29, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
RWX is a convention that focuses on retro gaming and retro pop culture, though more modern items do have their place at the event. Cosplay contests, panels, free play arcade areas, and a game/pop culture auction have all been a part of past expos, though a finalized schedule has not been posted at this time.
Likewise, a guest list has not been posted yet, but previous years have featured a variety of guests, such as some of the original Mortal Kombat cast and Youtubers like Yahel Velasquez. To get an idea of what the expo is like, you can check out our coverage of RWX 2018 from our hub page for the event, RWX’s website, and its Facebook event page.
Along with the scheduling announcement, RWX 2019’s Growtix site has gone live and a variety of ticket packages are available. There are also spaces available for exhibitors as well. The convention runs on from 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday, September 28 (with 21+ events immediately following), and from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, September 29. Please note that all times listed are EST.
Meanwhile, if you can’t wait for retro gaming goodness, the store chain that runs the expo, Retro Games Plus, hosts bimonthly ConnGo (Connecticut Gamers Organization) trade nights at their various store locations in Connecticut. The next trade night will be on June 15 at the Orange, Connecticut store location.
