F. Gary Gray has reportedly signed on to direct the Saints Row movie, the movie based on the video game series with the same name.
Gray is better known for his movies Fate of the Furious and Straight Outta Compton. He has also just finished directing Men In Black: International which is set to be released later in the year.
There’s very little known about the Saints Row movie, but it is likely to follow the Third Street Saints gang in the fictional cities of Steelport and Stilwater. We do know that Greg Russo is on board to do the writing, and with his previous video game film experience, it’s a decent writer to get on board.
Considering how poor most video game adaptions have been in the past, I certainly won’t hold my breath for this one. Still, the game has a decent story to work from, so if it follows those roots, who knows, it may be a success!
In other Saints Row news, Saints Row: The Third is set to land on Nintendo Switch this month if that’s something that floats your boat.
