Bad news for Sonic the Hedgehog fans: Sonic will not be going fast to any theaters near you as the movie has been delayed until 2020.
After the complaints about Sonic’s design, the director of the film, Jeff Fowler, said the blue streak will be redesigned for his big-screen debut. Unsurprisingly, the undoubtedly extensive changes have delayed the movie, pushing it back from November 7, 2019 to February 14, 2020.
We have not heard or seen any further hints of Sonic’s redesigned look. Fowler’s announcement tweet only shows a couple of Sonic’s fingers and the traditional Sonic the Hedgehog logo and icon. That is not very much to go on at all, unfortunately.

Paramount and Fowler have also not given us any other dates to look forward to for teasers or a fully redesigned trailer. So, until then, we will just have to keep on replaying the original Sonic the Hedgehog trailer… or not.
If you somehow missed it, or are still unsure if whether the redesign was necessary or not, you can check out that trailer below.
