Two Point Hospital developers Two Point Games have been acquired by SEGA the company has announced today.
After its incredibly successful release of Two Point Hospital, the spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, SEGA has today broke the news that it has acquired the game’s developer, Two Point Games, who’ll sit alongside its other studios, Creative Assembly, Amplitude, Relic, and many more.
As for what the future holds, SEGA says that they have several “exciting unannounced projects” in the works, with more news coming soon. What’s more, the team will continue to work on Two Point Hospital, with teasing that they’re excited about the future “as we continue to evolve Two Point County”, said Mark Webley.
This acquisition makes a lot of sense considering how well Two Point Hospital did, as well as the fact that the tycoon genre seems to be getting its second wind with great titles like Planet Coaster (and Planet Zoo coming up), Jurassic Park Evolution, and many more.
In our review, we wrote that “Two Point Hospital is everything I wanted and more. It brings the classic gameplay of Theme Hospital along with the series’ staple humor, to a modern era,” giving the game an 8.3 out of 10.
