Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have today unveiled the future content roadmap for their co-op shooter, World War Z.
After hitting the top of the sales chart during its launch week as well as shipping over 1 million copies, Saber Interactive has unveiled what’s next for players in their zombie-infested shooter which includes overall improvements, new gameplay, and features.
Kicking off the roadmap this month is a brand new mission which whisks players off to Tokyo as well as a brand new zombie type which spits a deadly virus at players, oh and if they don’t kill it properly, it can resurrect itself.
Following this, in June a new six-skull difficulty setting will arrive with a brand new reward, as well as new bonus cosmetics, among other things.
Finally, in July players will be able to dive into a new Weekly Challenge mode that’ll have players returning each week or earn rewards. New cosmetics and other goodies are also expected to arrive that month, too.
Outside of this as part of further free updates, a wave-based survival mode will be added to the game as well as private lobbies, the ability to switch classes during PvPvZ matches, the ability to adjust the field of view and level of detail sliders for PC players.
A new trailer has also been released, which can be seen below:
