Fans of Castlevania and anything Koji Igarashi works on, in general, have waited for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night for a long time. And now, that wait is finally over.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is finally available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC today. The game will be releasing on June 25 for Switch so you can get an on the go copy as well.
With the game’s launch comes a new launch trailer, which you can see at the bottom of this article. The trailer shows off more of the side scroller in all of its gothic-horror glory that has interested many of us since the game first made its way to Kickstarter in 2015. The trailer also gives us some quick looks at upcoming free DLC. The 13 different DLC updates will include things available today such as an 8bit Level, Boss Rush Mode, Speed Mode, Nightmare Difficulty and a Pure Miriam Set. Later on, the game will also be getting a Co-op mode, two extra playable characters, classic mode and more as part of the 13 free DLC updates.
Lastly, the trailer gives us a look at Shovel Knight in the game who was previously announced as a playable character. Can’t argue having more Shovel Knight in our lives, that’s great for anyone.
Set in 18th century England, where a paranormal force has summoned a demon-infested castle, revealing crystal shards infused with tremendous magical power, players of Bloodstained take on the role of Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes her body, enabling her to use spells, weapons, special items and abilities to tailor the game to their playstyle. To save humanity and herself, Miriam must fight through the castle while collecting, crafting and unlocking a vast array of weapons, equipment and loot to defeat the summoner Gebel and the countless minions and bosses of hell that await.
