Clannad, a cult classic visual novel from Japan, will be released for the Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe early next month.
In case if you didn’t catch this one when it first debuted in 2004, Clannad is a visual novel that follows high school senior Tomoya Okazaki as he interacts and grows close to five different girls. It has also had manga and anime adaptations and spin-offs.
The new release features visuals in 1080 HD, music and “selected vocals” in Linear PCM 5.1 surround sound (provided you have the proper hook-ups), and the ability to play with just the touch screen or just a single Joy-Con, if the system is docked. You can also choose whether you would like to play in Japanese or English. The English mode comes with a “Dangopedia,” meant to assist Western players with varying aspects of Japanese culture they may not be familiar with.

Clannad will be available starting July 4, but it can be pre-ordered now.
