Crossfire X, a western adaptation of Asia’s enormously popular first-person shooter Crossfire, is coming to Xbox One next year.
Crossfire X is being developed by its owner, Smilegate Entertainment, based in South Korea. Crossfire is a free-to-play multiplayer shooter in which players take roles as part of one of two mercenary factions. The two factions are Global Risk, a private military corporation that are considered to be the franchise’s good guys; and their rivals Black List, a terrorist organization that’s solely in it for the money.
The trailer announcement for the western release showcased many of the same themes and motifs, including vehicular and underwater combat, as well as modern weapons and tactics.
