Previously known as Dragon Ball Project Z, during Microsoft’s E3 2019 briefing, Bandai Namco announced the game as Dragon Ball Z Kakarot.
At first, it looked like Bandai Namco had a new Dragon Ball Xenoverse up their sleeves, but nope, Project Z has been fully unveiled as Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The first full trailer for the game was unveiled and focused on the events of the first few sagas of the anime.
It actually begins with Vegeta and Nappa’s arrival to Earth, as well as some clips of Vegeta and Goku duking it out. Finally, we get to see a bit of the iconic battle between Frieza and Goku.
It’s worth noting that this game is an action RPG rather than one-on-one combat, which is pretty exciting.
Here’s some more info from the press release from Bandai Namco:
“Developed in Japan by video game developer, CyberConnect2; the game tells the legendary story of DRAGON BALL Z, taking players on an unforgettable adventure to experience over-the-top battles and challenging quests while creating life-long friendships as they crusade to protect Earth from fearsome villains. Additionally, DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT will also present resolutions to long unanswered questions from the DRAGON BALL Z storyline through light-hearted side quests.”

The game is set to launch in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
