EA Sports has revealed the next installment to the FIFA series, FIFA 20, which is set to come with a homage to the classic FIFA Street series.
Rather than bringing back The Journey as EA Sports have done with FIFA 18 and 19, it seems the new career mode, Volta Football as it’s being called, will be taking “the game back to the streets” in FIFA 20.
According to EA Sports, Volta Football will have players diving into small-sided games (3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 games) on the streets with players being able to build their own players, choose gear, and take part in games across the globe all in areas that are authentic to grassroots street football.
Interestingly, the career mode will start off small and will eventually see players take part in the Volta World Championship.
In addition to the new career mode, FIFA 20 will feature a number of improvements including what EA Sports is calling the “Football Intelligence Experience” that’ll unlock “an unprecedented platform of football realism, putting you at the center of every match”. Furthermore, the game features “Authentic Game Flow” that’ll offer more awareness of time, space, and positioning.
“You’ll also have more control over the Decisive Moments that decide the outcome of games in both attack and defense with a Set Piece Refresh, Controlled Tackling, and Composed Finishing. Finally, the Ball Physics System offers new shot trajectories, more realistic tackle interactions, and physics-driven behavior, elevating gameplay to a new level of realism,” said EA Sports.
FIFA 20 is set to launch on September 27 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Switch version in the form of the FIFA 20 Legacy Edition. Finally, players who ore-order will get a head start with Ultimate Team, those who pre-order the Ultimate and Champions Editions of FIFA 20 will also get three-days early access.
