A release date has finally “Materia”lised for the highly coveted Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Call your boss now and book an extended vacation for March 3.

Filling two Blu Ray Disks, pre-orders are now open for the upcoming first episode of the legendary epic role-playing game. There are currently three different SKU versions of FF7: Remake Episode 1 to purchase. So far a $59.99 standard vanilla edition and two premium editions have been announced during 2019’s E3: A Deluxe edition and a 1st Class collector’s edition.

The $79.99 Deluxe edition contains the first episode and Base game and any pre-order bonuses yet to be announced, an Artbook, Mini-Soundtrack, Steelbook game case, Cactuar and Carbuncle Summon Materia DLC.

The $329.99 Square Enix Store-exclusive 1st Class collector’s edition contains everything in the Deluxe edition as well as a highly detailed Play Arts Kai Cloud Strife & Hardy Daytona action figure.

All customers that pre-order will receive the exclusive Baby Chocobo Summon Materia DLC. While this is not confirmation that there will be more purchasable DLC down the road, it does seem highly likely.

With no evidence as to what summons have been relegated to DLC, hopefully, it will just be guest summons appearing from other Final Fantasies and not any of the original sixteen red Mataria bound beasts.

What are you looking forward to the most from the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake?
