Ubisoft has announced the next Rainbow Six title that’ll be launching sometime in the future, Rainbow Six Quarantine.
Details at this point in time are a little thin, but from the cinematic trailer, we saw it seems Rainbow Six are going to be facing off against a new foe which doesn’t quite present itself as your usual antagonist. Though for those who played in the Outbreak event in Rainbow Six Siege, they may recognize some things.
“Rainbow Six Quarantine is being developed by an entirely new team at Ubisoft Montreal, who were inspired by the long-standing brand legacy of tactical co-op shooters and the varied cast of operators from Rainbow Six Siege, to develop something that is truly more than the sum of its parts,” said the developer in a press release. “Last year’s Outbreak event in Rainbow Six Siege was the spark that ignited passions within this group, and they’ve come back now, a year later, with a truly incendiary vision: a deep, radically re-designed, full game experience.”
According to Ubisoft, the game is a three-player tactical co-op PvE game featuring “a totally new breed of mutated alien parasite”. Details on the game’s setting, operators, or story are currently under wraps. Though Ubisoft did reveal that the alien parasite can infect human hosts as well as their surroundings, making everything a threat.
Rainbow Six Quarantine will be released in 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
