In a move that probably won’t come as a shock to many, Capcom are bringing two more Resident Evil titles to the Switch: Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6.

The Switch’s library already includes three entries from the franchise: Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 0 and the remake of the original Resident Evil. Unlike those three, however, Resident Evil 5 & 6 are very action-focused, explosive affairs, and both are playable online or in split-screen with a friend.

While there’s certainly an argument to be made for only porting your older games to the Switch — there’s no sign of it getting Resident Evil 7 or the remake of Resident Evil 2 — being able to play such a bulky roster of Resident Evil games on the go is definitely a tempting prospect.

Although neither game is especially regarded as a high point for the franchise — Resident Evil 6, in particular, draws criticism — they’ll certainly fill a gap for Switch owners who want more of the series on Nintendo’s portable platform.

There’s no fixed release date for either game yet. All we know is that they’ll be arriving in Fall 2019.
