Over the years, I’ve lost track of how many times a retailer or manufacturer has leaked an upcoming game or piece of hardware. The latest slip-up involves the long-rumored revisions to Nintendo’s Switch console.
This new information comes courtesy of Honson Gaming, a China-based manufacturer of gaming accessories. Of particular note here is that they sell hardware add-ons and peripherals, and they supposedly now stock accessories for an upcoming Nintendo Switch Mini.
As reported by GamesRadar, a representative of Honson Gaming contacted Nintendo enthusiast Alex Blake to advertise their newest merchandise. In a screenshot provided by Blake of an exchange with Honson Gaming, the rumored new Switch model can be seen.
This could all very well be fake, mind you. Anyone familiar with Photoshop or similar programs could make a convincing fake image or two, given enough time, but as the saying goes: there’s no smoke without fire.
Rumors and apparent leaks regarding new Switch models have been popping up for months now. Bringing out newer versions of a console partway through its life cycle has been common practice since the days of the first PlayStation, and Nintendo certainly hasn’t been averse to doing it. Just how many different versions of the 3DS were there, exactly?
Whether or not this particular leak proves to be true or not, the Switch has been around for over two years now, and it’s at about this time that we tend to hear news of an impending hardware revision. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more.
