The Division could well be heading to our screens outside of the gaming realm, as Netflix has swiped up the film adaptation.
Ubisoft’s online action-pack apocalypse game The Division was released back in 2016. But time doesn’t seem to be slowing down the possibilities for this one, because since then, it’s grown to have a 20+ million fan base. If that doesn’t prove the games immortality, maybe this news will.
Netflix has recently swiped Ubisoft Motion Pictures’ film adaption of the game and we’ve already got news of who you can expect to see on screen.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain are set to star in the project but how so story wise is still unclear for now. David Leitch (hailing from Deadpool 2) is also set to direct so you know it’s going to be a good time.
The Division takes place in a near future New York, where a pandemic kills thousands of people in the blink of an eye. Everyday people who were programmed for such catastrophes set out to retake the city from less-than-friendly survivors who would rather see it burn.
