When a new game or system hits the market, Nintendo often hosts nationwide road trips in the United States to promote it. This summer, Nintendo is keeping up the trend with a US road trip promoting several Switch games with playable demos.
This summer, attendees can look forward to playing Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, Super Mario Party, Overcooked 2, and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
Additionally, attendees will receive “event passports” and can check in with their My Nintendo IDs to receive an unnamed free gift and 100 Platinum points on their M Nintendo accounts. The free gift appears to be digital, though similar events hosted by Nintendo have sometimes given out additional freebies. For more information, you can check out the check-in page for the event.
The road trip will begin on June 26 at the Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois, and run until October 14, ending things at the State Fair of Dallas, Texas. Altogether, there will be fourteen stops, some of which will be hosting the preview events for multiple days. The complete list of road trip stops can be viewed on the road trip’s page.
