In what may be the most adorable crossover ever, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is getting a series of events and in-game items based on Hello Kitty and other Sanrio franchises.
The fun starts on July 11, when characters and themed items from the Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll series will become available to Pocket Camp players. This is a limited-time event, though there doesn’t seem to be a firm end date yet.
When the event begins, all players will receive a free in-game gift: Hello Kitty’s bow accessory. A scavenger hunt is set to run between July 11 and July 22, and Sanrio fortune cookies give players a chance to acquire more themed items for their collections.
Items featuring Sanrio characters are set to “roll out gradually”. Collection #1 will arrive on July 11, with two more sets to follow: #2 in “late July” will feature Pompompurin and My Melody, with Little Twin Stars and Keroppi debuting in collection #3 in “early August”.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp launched in October 2017 and, while proving popular with fans of the series, it has drawn criticism for its in-game grind and microtransaction issues. The next game in the main series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, launches for Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2020.
