Marvelous had an announcement in this week’s Famitsu magazine that Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town/Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town will be getting a full remake in Japan.
The “new” game will be called Story of Seasons: Reunion at Mineral Town. While the old Mineral Town games were split into a boy’s version and a girl’s version as separate games, it appears that Reunion will be just one game that lets the player pick their gender.
The Famitsu announcement included screenshots and character art. Although the article itself is in Japanese, it’s easy to recognize some old characters with updated designs: the male and female player characters, Rick, Popuri, Cliff, Popuri and Lilia have all been shown. The same magazine spread shows us that new animals to the series, like capybaras and angora rabbits, will also be moving into Mineral Town.

Story of Seasons: Reunion at Mineral Town will be out in Japan on October 17 for the Nintendo Switch. At this time, there is no word on whether the remake will make it anywhere else.
