Henry Cavill might have hung up his cape, but that hasn’t slowed down his theatrical presence. From Mission Impossible to the upcoming The Witcher Netflix Series Cavill has been a rather busy man. This time, he’s on the hunt for a serial rapist-murderer in the new crime-thriller, Night Hunter.
Joining films like Zodiac, Prisoners, and Silence of the Lambs, Night Hunter boasts an impressive cast including Henry Cavill, Sir Ben Kingsley, Alexandra Daddario, Brendan Fletcher, and Nathan freaking Fillion(!).
Cavill portrays a grizzled cop, Marshall, who is on the hunt for a serial murderer/rapist. While searching for the criminal he has a run-in with a vigilante duo, Cooper and Julia (Kingsley and Eliana Jones respectively) who make a habit of luring sexual predators online and executing their own forms of social justice. Unfortunately, Julia gets herself kidnapped, and it falls on Marshall and Cooper to hunt down the perpetrator. However, his apprehending only thickens the plot surrounding these mysterious killings.
Daddario’s Rachel feels that the killer in custody, whom they linked to years of murders and abductions, has various personalities and that one of them has the answers they seek. However, she’ll need to convince Marshall’s stoic demeanor shes right, as pressure from the community and the local Commissioner call for blood.
Night Hunter is scheduled to air exclusively on DIRECTV on August 8, 2019, and will later receive a regular theatrical/on-demand release on September 6. Be sure to check out the trailer below!
