A riveting story, complete with stellar voice acting and breathtaking visuals make for an engrossing adventure.
Everything is in place for the story mode to be the most riveting to date, yet Halo 5: Guardians seems to have not utilised some of the tools that it has made for itself. What was pegged as the greatest hunt for a war hero gone rogue sometimes feels undercooked. Graphically stunning cut scenes and visuals, improved mobility, weapons and the core story mechanics are there, but with just a few tweaks to the characters themselves we would have a breathtaking video game bordering on cinematic glory. The online multiplayer remains wonderfully executed, and is the best so far. All the building blocks are there for Halo 6, and with the right direction can achieve gaming immortality.
Super Troopers 2 has officially started shooting, with more than four times the budget of the original, and a promise of a "kick ass chase". Brian Cox uploaded a video on youtube that was interesting to the say the least. He'll return on two conditions - the budget for the movie caps at least 5 million dollars, and he gets to do a scene with a bullwhip and a rocket launcher - Best not to ask.
The final poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released, and it falls in perfectly with the previous six movie posters. Below you can see the official poster (no teasers) including Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Daisy Ridley as Rey and John Boyega as Finn. Also appearing on the poster is the wizened duo Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, reprising their roles as Han and Leia.
Master Chief is dead. Killed in action on October 27th 2650, according to the rather glum newscaster in the newly released live action trailer.
In Magnetic: Cage Closed, you are an inmate at a high security prison run by a sadistic and macabre warden. Tasked with testing prototype magnetic 'weapons', you are immediately given an ultimatum. Stay in your cell and your sentence will be carried out on the spot via chlorine gas, or take on a series of puzzles, win your freedom and have your criminal record expunged.
Good news fellow Brits, and apologies for the above wordplay. A day has been lasered off of the release of Episode VII, meaning a day less where I wait in equal amounts of excitement and apprehension.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the two previous games in the series and the digital adaptation of the board game are available for purchase at GOG.com, with slashed price tags. A subsidiary of CD Projekt, GOG (formerly Good Old Games) is offering a hefty 46% discount if you purchase the complete series in a bundle.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will not include multiplayer mode, according to the Official XBox Magazine. This comes as more than a bit of a surprise, considering Lara Crofts' most recent venture was complete with online shenanigans, but I'm sure Square Enix have their reasons.
Battlefield 4 will today receive a free update based on your specific feedback. This update will include a new map, Zavod: Graveyard Shift, which will still support all of Battlefield 4's existing modes, and will be a variation of existing map Zavod 311. The key feature of this new map will be the ability to fight under the cover of darkness, for those of you who've been eating your carrots.
Fan favourite multi-player map Nuketown is being revamped in Call of Duty: Black Ops III, to integrate the new 'chain' based movement system. Treyarch will tackle a fresh take on the popular map, while still delivering the close quarters combat we have come to know and love.
Fassbender will portray series newcomer Callum Lynch in the modern day. Lynch will use the Animus machine to re-live the memories of his Spanish ancestor Aguilar, also played by Fassbender. The Animus will take us back to 15th Century Spain, but the movie will also have an Abstergo presence, meaning the modern day Templars will have a major role to play. Assassin's and Templars will wage war in the present day, with the Spanish Inquisition serving as centre stage for the centuries old conflict.
I leap into the middle of the pack, attach a Springrazor to a hardened face, then 'Blink' up to a viewpoint to admire my handiwork. Time resumes, the Springrazors' mechanics kick in and body parts fly as lethal shrapnel disperses the crowd faster than a bad smell at a barbecue.
After the violent showing of Rise of the Tomb Raider at this years Gamescom, creative director Noah Hughes has reiterated that things don't always have to end in a bloodbath.
