Books, you know, those things full of words. They still exist and n3rdabl3 has a few recommendations that they want to shout about.
One thing you must know about me, no matter how much I say I'm going to read something, I likely never do. I'm a...

Head into any good book store in the UK and chances are in the top 40 charts you'll find a Minecraft themed book, whether it's a recipe book, a how-to book, or something else all together, it's clear Minecraft is a very, very popular title. It's so popular that last year books based on video games were worth £14.5 million, that's a rise of almost £10 million year-on-year.

It's another sad news article for fellow nerds out there as Sir Terry Pratchett, known for his Discworld series of novels, has died today at the age of 66. For a while now the author has been suffering with Alzheumer's disease but has continued to do what he loves the most, writing his final book last summer.
In news that is both happy and sad, Games Radar has reported that the final novel in the late Terry Pratchett's Discworld series will be released in September this year. The Shepherd's Crown will feature a now-teenaged Tiffany Aching, Witch of the Chalk, and will follow on from the events of the previous four in the story arc.
Loved stories and characters from books, comics and games have all been thrown to one side. Here's a few of the gems that should make an appearanceappearance in Star Wars VII
George R. R. Martin is offering two fans, one male and one female, the chance of a life time, to have a character named after them in one of his future books. The chance comes via a fund raising campaign that Martin is running to make money for The Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary and The Food Depot in New Mexico. Though I'm slowly managing to read the book for the first time, I'm already pretty invested in the film adaptation of Ready Player One, a novel by Ernest Cline which tells the story of an insane virtual reality video game which lets people escape from the almost apocalyptic world they're living in.
I still haven't properly seen all of the second part of The Deathly Hallows, I'll just admit that now, So along with that, we can add this to the list of Potter related stuff I need to do..
Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favourite authors, Survivor is a particular favourite of mine, and while Fight Club was a much better film adaptation than Choke (at least in my opinion), I'm still pretty excited to hear that Lullaby, a book about a mysterious chant that's been killing off infants, and adults, is being made into a movie with Palahniuk himself getting elbows deep in the movie's production. Quite rightly too considering the origins of the book.
Michal Kicinski, who you'll probably know best for the Witcher game series and the classic DRM-free gaming site, GOG.com, has just launched a brand new independent eBookstore, Openbooks.com, offering readers the chance to download hundreds of books for free, and then decide whether to pay, and how much to pay, via an embedded payment link.
A new excerpt has been released on George R. R. Martins upcoming A Song of Ice and Fire tie in World Of Ice and Fire. The excerpt deals with the first King of the Seven Kingdoms, Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters/ brides. The piece is written from the point of view of a maester of Old Town talking about Aegon's life and the events that lead to the conquest.
