UK Phone retailer Phones 4U has been 'forced' into administration following news that their final network partner EE has decided to abandon the mobile super-store. This follows even more awful news for the company in which Vodafone, another UK carrier decided not to renew their contract with the firm, and that Currys/PC World decided to pull their concession stands out of their stores following a merger with competitor Carphone Warehouse. All in all, things aren't looking good for Phones 4U.
With this week marking the launch of not only the Nexus 9 but Android 5.0 Lollipop it's a better time than any to see how Android is doing as a whole. To shed some light on the current state of Android adoption, Google have released a brand new set of Android Platform Distribution number giving us insight to how many Android users are on what version of Android, and KitKat is in the lead.
Let the countdown begin as HTC has revealed that they've received the code for Android Lollipop and plan to get an update ready within a three month period. This does unfortunately mean that you could be waiting until January at the latest for your handset to get Android Lollipop. Bah, humbug.
