Ubisoft have applied Trademarks to the live entertainment productions of their most successfully franchises.
The rumours and news surrounding the Assassin's Creed movie has almost turned into a will-it won't-it soap opera as the movie is hit with delays, cast changes, director changes and more, but now it seems the movie has set its sights on a December 2016 target, more specifically December 21, 2016.
According to a report by Kotaku, a new Assassin's Creed game is in development and this time it's set in Victorian London.
The Assassin's Creed franchise is well known for its portrayal of history in its video games. Take Assassin's Creed Unity for example, it shows players what 17th century Paris was like and offers a detailed look at the city's architecture, so it comes as no surprise that Ubisoft are hoping to attract more young 'uns to the game. My only concern is over the core concept of the game.. to ultimately murder a specific target and kill those who stand in your way..
Holy crap, that sneaked up on us quickly didn't it? Ubisoft have today released the launch trailer for their first 'next-gen only' Assassin's Creed title, Assassin's Creed Unity, which is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 14 here in the UK. The trailer takes another final look at 18th Century Paris and the games main protagonist Arno.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is set for release on November 14exclusively to last-gen consoles but it seems PC players may also be getting the last-gen offering too as well as Assassin's Creed Unity. Unfortunately Ubisoft hasn't yet announced the news officially, but a rating for the game on PC has landed on the Brazillian Classification Board as well as briefly appearing in Ubisoft's Uplay Reward page for PC at the weekend.
What do you get when you cross a best selling Assassin-based franchise with adorable little kittens? Assassin's Kittens Unity of course and it's absolutely freaking adorable. Look at the little tiny capes! Hnnnngh!

Ubisoft has increased the Assassin's Creed team this week, but not by hundreds, or tens, but by just one. The new role titled "Chief Parkour Officer" has gone to free-running expert, Michael “Frosti” Zernow, who'll be advising the development team on how to make the Parkour featured in the game look more realistic.
Assassin's Creed Unity has just gotten another trailer in celebration of Bastille Day, or French National Day, it doesn't reveal anything new and seems to be a super cut of the impressive E3 demo, but it's a new trailer nonetheless! If that wasn't enough for you, Ubisoft have also released some new artwork and a screenshot of the game.
With the increasing popularity of video games over the past 20 years or so, the curiosity surrounding the story behind the games has also become just as popular. Now, I know movies based on video games is a bit of a sore subject amongst you fellow gamers as there is a lot of evidence to support the discontinuation of movies based on video games. But in recent years it does appear that there have been a few glimmers of hope and some unexpected surprises with such content. The main example I have for this is Forward Unto Dawn, the Halo based live action series. It wasn’t a movie as such, but it did show a very popular universe brought to us in a different way.
Assassin's Creed Unity is coming very soon to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One but it appears Ubisoft are not giving up on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Yesterday, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was asked about the future of the series on last gen in an investor call."We said that we were going to give more info soon on that, and it will come soon."
Chris Early, Vice President of Ubisoft's digital publishing team has come forward in an interview with Games Industry on his thoughts on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's downloadable content and the rest of the industry's slow drive to acceptance by the gaming community. Being something that I myself find to be a cheap cash-in for many publishers in the industry, I would somewhat disagree.
The flagship franchise from Ubisoft has to be Assassin's Creed, in mine and many other (correct) opinions anyway. And since it's first release in 2007 Ubisoft Montreal have been the studio behind our favourite History lesson's. Things have changed though. It has been confirmed on the Ubisoft Blog that Ubisoft Quebec will be taking over on the next Assassin's Creed title...
