Yesterday a stream of the E3 demo for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was released for those that didn't get a chance to see it at the conference. The 30 minutes of gameplay come straight from a PS4 running at 1080p and 60 FPS. The demo picks up nine years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and sees a recovered Big Boss returning to the field in order to rescue Miller.
It's been on the mind of millions of gamers around the world since it was announced but until now, Oddworld New 'n' Tasty hasn't been in the sights of franchise fans with an Xbox One. Throughout development Yorkshire-based team Just Add Water have been quite vocal about the remake coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita with no word on any versions for the Microsoft family of consoles. In a conversation with Eurogamer however, creator Lorne Lanning revealed that New 'n' Tasty will be coming to the Xbox One later this year.
The PlayStation 4 already has a selection of free-to-play online games floating around it like Warframe, not to mention the MMO giant of FFIV: A Realm Reborn which is still pulling in players. These games have set locks in motion to open the flood gates for Free-to-Play MMOs to start regularly hitting Sony's latest console. The latest to ride atop this surge is Kingdom Under Fire II, an MMO Action RTS in development by studio Phantagram.
PlayStation have released a new trailer showing of Sony's new streaming service PlayStation Now. PlayStation Now is currently in Closed Beta but will soon being going into Open Beta for all US Playstation 4 owners on July 31st. PlaySation 3 and PS Vita owner will be able to join up later on followed by owners of Sony Bravia Smart TV's.
Sony have been busy uploading videos to the PlayStation YouTube channel showing off various games that they're demonstrating on the show floor at E3 in Los Angeles. The latest video they've uploaded gives us a glimpse at Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Throughout the week Sony have been uploading 'Live Coverage' videos of games that are being shown on the show floor at E3 this year, amongst them is this video giving us a glimpse at Tom Clancy's The Division in action with the Games Director, Ryan Barnard, to talk about the game and demonstrates a walkthrough of a mission.
As E3 swings into action new things are coming out from every publisher currently there. After Nintendo announced Amiibo there's been a greater level of interest surround figurines than ever before and Activision are bringing the weight of their Skylanders franchise to bear in full by showing off some of the characters we can expect to see in the upcoming Skylanders Trap Team. With a selection of over 40 new character coming to the franchise there's plenty for them to choose from.
Sony have released a new video showing of The Evil Within at the E3 PlayStation booth. Pete Hines from Bethesda Softworks answers a lot of questions that fans of Shinji Mikami might have about his return to the survival horror genre. Hines also talks about the importances of the sound design in the game to help increase tension and immersion.
Yesterday was a pretty busy day for Nintendo announcements! First they held their Nintendo Digital Event where they revealed that not only could players choose to fight as their own Mii's but Mii's also have their own classes to choose from making fighting as your own little self much more challenging. Near the end of the event Nintendo unveiled a brand new character, who was then joined by another later during Nintendo's Treehouse broadcast.
During this year's E3 press conference, Sony's president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, Andrew House, announced that the PlayStation 4 is getting over 25 free-to-play titles, something which Sony's latest-generation console has been offering since launch and have been doing a great job with it too. The latest title to announce that it'll be free-to-play only on the PlayStation 4 is Suda51's new game, Let it Die.
It might not be the Final Fantasy VII announcement people want, but Square Enix are bringing a game based on the minigame featured in Final Fantasy VII to iOS and Android. According to the release from Square Enix yesterday, Final Fantasy VII G-Bike is a free-to-play title that combines "high-speed chases with deep RPG elements".
