Almost every exclusive Xbox One launch title has now made its way to PC with the latest addition being Crytek's Ryse: Son of Rome which is set to bring action-packed Roman battles to keyboard and mouse wielders on October 10. The game is set to come with all of the games DLC as well as 4K resolution support, but Crytek are omitting one thing from the game which can still be found in the Xbox One edition: Microtransactions. Thanks, Crytek.
Though it seems a sequel to Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome is completely out of the window thanks to Crytek's money woes, those who prefer to sit in front of a keyboard and mouse will finally get to experience what can probably only be described as interactive motion picture.
During the run up to the launch of the Xbox One and the release of Ryse: Son of Rome by Crytek there was news that the game would come with a challenge editor for the co-operative gladiator mode where players could create a set of objectives and challenges and unleash them onto the world. That however is no longer the case as Microsoft has confirmed that the challenge editor has been scrapped.
Yesterday reports were floating around that the price of digital Xbox One first party titles such as Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome have increased by £5. Microsoft have since confirmed the price hike clarifying that content pricing "is subject to change".
Roman history is awash with decadence and deceit. Beautiful architecture built on the backs of enslaved masses. Tales of glorious conflict which omit human tragedy in favour of legend. Ryse: Son of Rome holds true to these ideals. Draping a banal array of mechanics with exquisite visuals and enthralling plot movements. Beautiful in it's creation, while devoid of substance.
For those of you wishing to create your own Colosseum capers when you pick up Ryse, it looks like you'll have to wait a little while longer for the pleasure.
The first episode of the recently announced Ryse: Son of Rome "The Fall" live action series is available to watch right now. For a short four minute clip it's pretty blood soaked, a little mysterious too, it definitely opens it up for the rest of the series.
Purchasing the season pass will result in a saving of 25% as well as an exclusive in-game sword and shield with 'bonus attributes' for use in multiplayer...
I'm sure most of you remember the trailer we had for the game Ryse: Son of Rome, The third person Roman action adventure game filled with quick time events, you remember that right? Well for those that DID like it and are looking forward to it I have some good news for you. Ryse: Son of Rome is going to be made into a live action series.
It seems that Microsoft have picked a favourite three from their massive line-up of Xbox One exclusive launch titles; Dead Rising 3, Forza 5, and Ryse: Son of Rome will all be getting their own special "Day One" editions each including some added bonuses.
Crytek has released a video for their next generation hack-and-slash Ryse: Son of Rome which shows insight into the development process behind making a video game feel more like an interactive movie.
