The Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series is probably one of the best stealth based shooters ever made. The games revolve around Sam Fisher being a bad ass, saving the world from itself time and time again. Fisher spends his time either ghosting through complexes or mercilessly slaughtering any hapless guard he encounters.
Ubisoft kicked off their 30th anniversary celebrations at E3 this year by offering a free copy of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for anyone who signs up to the Ubisoft Club. The company plan to offer a free game every month for the rest of the year, and this month they're giving away Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
With the increasing popularity of video games over the past 20 years or so, the curiosity surrounding the story behind the games has also become just as popular. Now, I know movies based on video games is a bit of a sore subject amongst you fellow gamers as there is a lot of evidence to support the discontinuation of movies based on video games. But in recent years it does appear that there have been a few glimmers of hope and some unexpected surprises with such content. The main example I have for this is Forward Unto Dawn, the Halo based live action series. It wasn’t a movie as such, but it did show a very popular universe brought to us in a different way.
Sam Fisher's finally back! It's been 3 years since we saw the master spy in action where he appeared in Splinter Cell Conviction. Now he's back as the leader of the newly formed Fourth Echelon with more weapons, more gadgets, more ferocity and a more evil villain, one like he's never faced before.
