Volume Review: Robin Hood from the Future

I find myself waiting just out of sight of the Knight that was only a moment ago chasing me down before running into a carefully placed trap. Carefully placed for the Knight but not for me as one more step and turn and I’ll be done for. Thankfully though, the Knight returns to his guard post giving me the chance I need to move past, jump a low wall and carefully continue forward to the final key. The challenge now is how to get back without getting seen, heard or more importantly without a sword in my back.

Thomas Was Alone Hits One Million Sales and Counting.

Minimalist block-based platform puzzler, Thomas Was Alone, by british developer Mike Bithell has just hit one million copies sold and counting following its release in 2012.

Thomas Was Alone Developer announces VOLUME a top down stealth game.

"[REDACTED] Does not kill. That would be far too easy. Instead, he commits his crimes through stealth. He sneaks, he distracts, he avoids. He is never seen, and seldom heard. As he grows in popularity and notoriety, so will his inventory. Blackjacks, bugles, thunderclaps and veils are just some of the tools at [REDACTED]'s disposal."

That's the opening line on Volume's webpage, a brand new top-down stealth game from Mike Bithell the creator of Thomas Was Alone. Combining a retro "Tron-esque" top down stealth with player generated environments, Volume is designed as a fast paced, smart action game. Like with most stealth games you've got to be quiet, you cannot kill enemies so you must have your wits about you and use your "Ricochet" to control them, steal the loot, and complete levels created by friends.
